Franking Machines Labels

Why are Labels so Important?

Choosing the correct labels for your franking machine is an important consideration. There are lots of variations available, but not all are the same and we believe buying quality is key.

Low-quality labels can fall off before your item has reached is destination causing a delay on delivery, charges for the recipient and embarrassment to your business…potentially even the loss of a client.

Franking machines have different specifications for labels, some use postcard style which is more generic, other use label strips which come in all different lengths and widths (if you don’t have the correct ones can jam in the machine) and some machines use label rolls whereby the machines cut the labels to size.

What kind of Labels are Available

Franking labels are available for all machine types. There are self-adhesive labels or gummed labels, with gummed typically being for Pitney Bowes automatic machines.

The manufacturer made labels are best but come at a premium and often compatibles are more than suitable and available at a fraction of the price, speak to one of our agents and we will be more than happy to advise and guide you on this we also often get access to promotional discounts.

Where can I Buy Labels for Franking Machines?

Naturally, all manufacturers recommend the use of their own branded labels, but that’s not to say others can’t be used. The supplier will provide a choice of consumables both original manufacturer-branded and compatibles.

Franking machine labels are generally sold in boxes of 1000 (500 sheets, 2 labels per sheet), though smaller boxes are also available they come at a premium.

Our Tip: Buy in bulk, the more you buy the better the cost and the bigger the saving. It’s not uncommon to get 25% off for buying a handful or inks or boxes of labels, there are also often free shipping promotions available for those that buy in bulk.

Machines with or without label hoppers?

Some franking machines include label hoppers, allowing you to quickly print and process multiple packets or parcels to thick to feed through the franking machine. This is an important consideration when choosing a machine if you process a large amount of item requiring labels we would always suggest investing in a machine with an inbuilt label printer as processing times will significantly reduce and it will help ensure you get your post out on time and with accuracy.
